A video has surfaced showing a passenger apparently trying to open the emergency exit door before being restrained by crew members on a Korean Air flight.

The incident took place on Korean Air flight KE658 from Bangkok, Thailand, to Seoul, South Korea, on Friday.

Footage shared on TikTok by Jackson Lee (@whojacksonlee) captures a male passenger repeatedly attempting to turn the emergency exit door handle, though it didn’t open. The crew quickly surrounded and restrained him. According to a summary from Korean Air, the passenger had been sitting in a crew jump seat near the emergency exit. When asked to return to his assigned seat, he became verbally aggressive and made threatening movements toward the crew while trying to reach the exit area.

Following standard protocols, the cabin crew issued several warnings. With authorization from the captain, they restrained the passenger and moved him to a secure area, effectively de-escalating the situation.

Though online comments suggest this happened within an hour of takeoff, this timing has not been confirmed.

The Airbus A330-300 landed safely at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, where the passenger was handed over to authorities for further investigation.
